The stage today started in Westport and took the riders to Leenane-Tullycross-Leenane and to the finish in Westport a total of 103kms. A break of 6 got clear at the Kom @ 33kms it reduced to 5 and the was bridged across to by 6 riders.

Flor had a very good day for his first race of the season and in a hotly contested race with an average speed 37.7km/hr he finished comfortably in the peleton which at one stage had split drastically during the race but eventually regrouped. Brendan had a tough day in the saddle loosing contact on the crosswinds but used the cavecade to his advantage to regain contact on two occasions.
