Our club men were in action the past Saturday and Sunday for racing based in Broadford. On Saturday Patrick O’Connor Bernard Sweeney and John O’Donoghue took part in the Michael Sheilds Memorial. The lads rode a very good race on the fast paced sprinters circuit which gave little respite. Patrick rode very strong getting into a 3 man break for a lap or so was was in the mix contesting the final sprint. Bernard was unlucky to miss the split on the second last lap and John O’Donoghue rode a very tactical race for a man who is not quite back to form yet as he is still recovering from flu. Well done to all involved particularly newcomer to racing Bernard who is progressing in leaps and bounds.

On Sunday Micheal O’Shea took part in the Darragh McCarthy & Co Solicitors Cahill Cheese Road Race a real hardmans route with an epic climb on each lap it would be noted as being one of the hardest one day races on the calendar. Edward Casey also rode this event in the A3 Category.
