Drumm Cup 2019
In the A4 race our sole representative was Teddy McCarthy. Teddy was in the M40’s group who had a 30 second head start on the main A4 group but had a 1 minute deficit to make up on the M50’s. The M40’s and main group came together very quickly into the race but it was not until midway through the last lap that M50’s were caught and this resulted in a bunch sprint. Teddy finished comfortably within the top 20. No points but plenty positives for the races ahead. Well done Teddy!

In the A3 race, we had Mike O’Shea and Peter Clendennen who was making his season debut. There was plenty of attacks and attempted break aways but nothing stuck. Heading into the final few kilometres, a Tralee rider had a 30 second advantage but he was caught by the bunch just after the turn off from the main road. We had another bunch sprint and Peter pulled off a fantastic 10th place finish. Mike suffered cramps towards the end of the race, but he was very active throughout pulling back breaks. Well done Mike and Peter.
